Days upon days of dreary rain stopped for a few blissful hours. In a fortunate stroke of timing, as the sun came out, Kevin and I found the Lighthouse Restaurant. We had been doing some outlet shopping in Lewes, DE and were were driving up and down Route 1 looking for somewhere to eat.
We were immediately seated on the outside deck with a beautiful view of the water. A jam band played inside the bar and we decided to kick back with strawberry daiquiris and some lunch. We split a garden salad, some peel-n-eat shrimp and a bowl of seafood bisque.
Everything was delicious. It was the perfect meal for a perfect summer afternoon. Dave Matthews music playing in the background, gorgeous weather and a nice, light meal. If you ever find yourself somewhere between Dewey and Rehoboth beach, I recommend a meal at the Lighthouse.
Lessons learned:
–Kevin is much more likely to go outlet shopping if there is the reward of a great lunch attached to the activity.
–It’s tricky to shoot multiple dishes when they are all served at once to a hungry husband. By the time I finished shooting the shrimp, Kevin had eaten most of the soup. Being new at this, I’m not sure–is it still food porn if the bowl is empty?
