I am addicted to cake. Okay, to be honest, not just cake.
Cookies.
Sweet potato pie.
Sushi.
Bi-bim-bap.
Burgers.
Spare-ribs.
Challah.
Fried chicken.
Chicken korma.
Mo mo soup.
Soba noodles.
And the list goes on and on and on.
Everything tastes delicious. Everything.
I’m a great eater. I’m the kind of eater that you want to take to family dinner because I’m so appreciative of the cooking. I’ll enjoy your Mom’s cream of broccoli soup and your Uncle Bob’s chicken-fried steak. I’ll enjoy your sister-in-law’s pumpkin pie.
That’s where you come in. Yes blog reader–you.
Invite me to dinner. Invite me to lunch. Invite me over for a Saturday afternoon of baking. Invite me over for Sunday brunch. Generations of cooking are quietly slipping away and I want to honor the knowledge and skills honed at the kitchen counter.
Everyone has a special dish or two. The one they bring to all the family events. I want to learn how to make those dishes and record the experience in this blog. I want to honor those who spend hours in the kitchen, cooking the food they love for the people they love.
In return, you’ll get a great story to share with friends and family. You’ll get someone who really enjoys eating whatever you make and you’ll get a digital version of the recipe (with photos) posted on this blog. If I ever put a book together, you’ll be copied on that as well.
Calling all Moms and Dads, Aunts & Uncles, Bubbys, Nonnies, Grandmas & Pop-pops. Please invite me to dinner. Let me learn the food you love. I promise, I’m a good eater.
