As a student at the University of Miami, I didn’t know how to boil water. A friend from college recently reminded me of this and remarked that it’s ironic I now write a food blog.
I can remember being stymied by a box of hamburger helper. College meals consisted of raiding my sorority sisters’ fridges and eating their leftovers. Thanks Kappas!
If left to my own devices, I ate Captain Crunch cereal, bagels covered in chocolate frosting and ramen noodles. When I reminisce about college, I miss my metabolism the most.
I’ve come a long way since then, but there is still so much to learn. Every time I do an Amiable interview, I discover new techniques and am constantly amazed by the talented home cooks who make it all look so easy.
